Bilbao is to again host the largest European event in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. This second edition, ImagineNano 2013,  will be held at Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) from 23 to 26 April.

The event, which is being organised by Phantoms FoundationCIC NanoGUNEDonostia International Physics Center (DIPC)  and Euskampus Fundazioa, seeks to bring together the world Nanotechnology community: researchers from the sector, political decision-makers and investors.

This year, the focus will be on the areas of grapheme, energy, biomedicine, optics, photonics, security and defence. Internationally-renowned speakers will provide the delegates with an outstanding opportunity to discover first-hand the last trends and discoveries on the field in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology worldwide.

Apart from the international speakers, the event will feature an extensive exhibition which will showcase the cutting-edge advances in nanotechnology research and development, and will provide spaces for  one-to-one meetings and an industrial forum.

Imaginenano 2013 aims to become a benchmark as a stable platform for communication and meeting among the different stakeholders involved in the field of Nanoscience around the world.

Following on from  ImagineNano 2011 –with more than 1,500 participants from 42 countries and nearly 300 speakers-, this year’s event will also feature a series of  parallel lectures  to the main event at the Arriaga Room at Bizkaia Aretoa (University of the Basque Country - UPV/EHU).  These will be aimed at a non-expert audience in order to bring the world of Nanotechnology and Nanoscience to society. The lectures will take place on April 23, 24 and 25 at 18:30.
