II Day of the UPV/EHU Master's, successful turnout

The courses seek to create competent professionals that meet the demands of the job market.


Over 900 students attended the event, which aims to showcase the post-graduate range of courses  at the UPV/EHU, for the coming 2012-2013 academic year, and provide the future students with information  in a direct and attractive way . Comprehensive information was available on the post-graduate training of official master's degrees and the qualifications offered by the UPV/EHU, at the eight stands and from the 97 lecturers on the Master's courses who were at the event.
The students also had the opportunity to listen to the professor from the UPV/EHU, Jon Landeta, Director of the Institute of the Economy Applied to the Company, and professor and in charge of several of the Master's courses on offer. He focused on post-graduate training in the current crisis. He also presented awards to the best students in the 2010-2011 academic year. 55 prize winners, one for each Master's degree, were able to personally collect their award and, then, five students from the Master's discussed their personal experiences.
The event was opened by the Chancellor, Iñaki Goirizelaia, the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Organisation, Javier Giland the Director of the Master's and Doctorate School, Miren Cajaraville. During his speech, the chancellor stressed the importance that the  Máster Eguna has acquired within the UPV/EHU: "the purpose of today to is showcase our training courses, but also to show society the dynamism of a university that wishes to makes the post-graduate studies one of its hallmarks ".
The UPV/EHU is the leading university in PhD training in Spain  as it is the one with the greatest number of quality mentions.
The range of official master's degrees and those run by the UPV/EHU, for the coming 2012-2013 academic year, contains one hundred qualifications and covers all spheres of knowledge: the environment, health, energy and technology, economy and company, architecture, journalism and communication, linguistics, etc.. Twenty-four of the courses are inter-university master's degrees, where agreements have been signed with 57 universities, 10 of which are foreign. It should also be stressed that a third of the courses are taught in two or more languages, which include Basque, Spanish, French, English and Catalan..
