Person with a BSc in Biomedical Engineering

Euskampus Fundazioa, a non-profit organisation backed by the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, Fundación Tecnalia, the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and the University of Bordeaux (UB), is looking to hire someone with a BSc in Biomedical Engineering to support research initiatives in the area of “Characterisation and development of P2X4 modulators for the treatment of multiple sclerosis”.


The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, amongst other things:

  • Performing microglial primary cell cultures
  • Characterisation of P2X4 receptor-mediated responses by means of electrophysiological patch-clamp recording in microglial cells in-vitro and in brain slices
  • Recording of in-vivo imaging of microglial motility by two-photon microscopy



  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering
  • Master's Degree in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine
  • Experience in electrophysiological recording
  • Very high English skills

Other aspects that will be taken into consideration:

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Knowledge in the field of neuroscience.
  • Very high Basque skills


We offer:

Immediate incorporation with a full-time (100%), project-based contract from 12 October 2020 until 12 February 2021. Participation in a research line with great international potential within a multi-disciplinary group. Salary equivalent to that of a pre-doctoral researcher at the UPV/EHU.
