BSc in Pharmacy

Euskampus Fundazioa, a non-profit organisation backed by the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, Fundación Tecnalia, the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and the University of Bordeaux (UB), is looking to hire someone with a BSc in Pharmacy to undertake a project related to the study of cell diversity in the substantia nigra pars reticulata in ethiopathogenesis of Parkinson’s Disease.


The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, amongst other things:

  • Stereotactic surgery in mice, injection of virus for optogenetic manipulation of specific population of neurons
  • Electrophysiological patch-clamp recording in brain slices
  • Inducing Parkinsonism in animal models
  • Analysing data obtained from in vitro electrophysiological records


  • BSc in Pharmacy
  • MSc in Neurosciences
  • Oral and written communication skills

Other desirable requirements:

  • Experience in electrophysiology studies in rodents
  • Experience in stereotactic surgery
  • Experience with animal models of Parkinson's Disease
  • Autonomy, proactivity, and initiative
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Result-oriented
  • Highly motivated

We offer:

Immediate incorporation with a full-time (100%), project-based contract from 01 April 2020 until 31 May 2020. Participation in a research line with great international potential within a multi-disciplinary group. Salary equivalent to that of a pre-doctoral researcher at the UPV/EHU.
